Ariana Grande brought her Eternal Sunshine tour to a close with a tearful farewell at London\u2019s O2 Arena on Tuesday night ahead of her public break.<\/p>\n
According to\u00a0the Independent<\/a>, the 33-year-old singer became visibly emotional midway through the two-hour show, which capped a ten-night London residency and marked the end of the three-month tour.<\/p>\n Ariana\u2019s hiatus follows a\u00a0message she shared with fans<\/a>\u00a0as she wrapped up the North American leg of the tour in early August.<\/p>\n The decision to step away comes after months of intense scrutiny over Ariana\u2019s appearance and health.<\/p>\n In\u00a0a statement issued in August<\/a>, Ariana\u2019s representative said she was looking forward to \u201cfinishing the tour and ending it on a high note, both healthily and happily, and then taking a much-deserved break from public-facing work and appearances, which has led to endless, ongoing public scrutiny\u201d.<\/p>\n At a Chicago show shortly after that announcement, Ariana read from a prepared note, insisting the plan wasn\u2019t \u201ca reactive or impulsive thing\u201d.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s something that I had decided to plan,\u201d she told fans.<\/p>\n Speaking to the crowd partway through the concert on Tuesday night, Ariana thanked fans for making the tour \u201cone of the most beautiful, extraordinary experiences of my life,\u201d according to the Independent and\u00a0Variety<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI just want to express my gratitude without sobbing completely,\u201d she told the audience. \u201cBut really, thank you from the bottom of my heart, it\u2019s been so special and I\u2019ll cherish this experience always. I have the best fans in the entire world and I always have.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I love your outfits, I love your faces, I love seeing you, I love connecting with you in this way,\u201d the Wicked star said. \u201cThank you for all of your effort for making this so special.\u201d<\/p>\n Ariana kicked off the tour with three dates in Oakland, California, in June, before playing 41 shows in total across North America and London. The final ten nights all took place at the O2 Arena.<\/p>\n Just as she had the previous night, the singer performed in flat, above-the-knee boots. She had earlier explained she needed \u201ccosy footwear\u201d on stage after suffering a \u201cdeep cut\u201d to her foot.<\/p>\n During the show, Ariana also tweaked the lyrics to Thank U, Next, singing \u201cWrote some songs about Ricky \/ I\u2019m tryna make him my last\u201d \u2014 a nod to former boyfriend Ricky Alvarez. She hasn\u2019t publicly confirmed a reunion, though she posted a photo of the pair together in August.<\/p>\n Despite the hiatus, fans will see Ariana on screen again soon.
